I wanted this to feel more like a vintage "block printed" postcard. Red and black tapa print, with woodpressed letters.
Our newest mug is a playful take on the aloha spirit. We wanted a softer mug that was a little more relaxed. The initial concepts were reminiscent of postcard fonts with sunsets on beaches, and it slowly grew into what we feel is just a gentle piece that hopefully brings happiness in it's simplicity. The first few sketches were over the top wit palm trees, sunsets, and clouds, but I felt that the whimsical spirit was getting lost in all the extras. In a way, I just wanted a mug that would put a smile on faces but didn't have to be extravagant. The gentleness of the design is meant to just be a warm, heartfelt "Aloha!".
Nicely sized at 22oz, 6x5x2.5" it fits in your hand comfortably.
